What is the difference between aluminum and aluminum alloy balls?

Aluminum ball and aluminum alloy ball come in a variety of sizes and grades. In relation to their features and chemical compositions, they can range from polished concrete to highly processed special alloys. However, in common usage, as long as both types are made from aluminum or aluminum alloy, their general features and performances remain relatively the same.

Aluminum is the base for aluminum balls. It is soft and lightweight, making it easy to form and shape into different shapes. Aluminum balls have excellent corrosion resistance and are unaffected by a wide range of chemical environments. Aluminum balls are extremely are extremely affordable.

Aluminum alloy balls change on composition, but the majority of products are made from a combination of aluminum and other elements, including nickel, zinc, copper, titanium, and magnesium. Aluminum alloy balls are stronger and are preferred for applications in which higher strength and wear resistance is required.

Common uses of aluminum balls are bearings, valve components, and gaskets. As with any ball, they can also be used in rolling stands, dials, and rollers. Standard aluminum balls are adequate for most applications, but special processing treatments may be needed for more expensive components. Aluminum alloy balls are more commonly used in more demanding applications, such as those in the aerospace and automotive sectors.

The applicable industries of aluminum balls vary greatly, depending on the application. Common examples include construction, machinery and tooling, packaging, automotive, medical, and aerospace.
